his friends live near the
beach. Sleeping on the sand,
they are easy prey for impulse
criminals, unruly adolescents, and
even other homeless men. But in
these fourteen stories, Pinkie
survives fires, floods, and
attacks, working without pay, and
still is able to make the weekly
dance and, for a few short hours,
feel human again.
